This year, on World Cotton Day, we will celebrate this glorious day for two days at Tooska Agritourism Farm located in Gorgan city the capital of Golestan Province, in the northern part of Iran country with cotton farmers, experts, cotton fabric manufacturers, researchers, students, artists, tourists and other interested parties.
This festival is held in cooperation with Orsham Estrabad Green Women’s Cooperative under the management of Mrs. Hoda Hosseini. On the first day, October 7th, at Tooska, we will talk about the importance of cotton as the only plant that provides both fiber and human food, and we will ask the leading cotton farmers to tell their experiences of cotton production. Next, a contest will be organized for students, including paints and the best sentences about the role of cotton in the daily life of society, and prizes will be awarded to the winners. Then some musical art programs will be performed.
During this event, an exhibition of cotton products and achievements has been set up for all participants. On the second day of the festival, October 8th, a training workshop will be organized for farmers, experts, students and other interested parties in one of the cotton fields that have been cultivated with No-Tillage method, in which the participants will learn the steps from zero to 100, cotton production becomes familiar. This great festival is held with the participation of the private and public sectors, and the person responsible for registering the festival on the website of the International Cotton Advisory Committee is Dr. Mohammad Esmaeil Asadi, an international researcher of water and soil and Conservation Agriculture with more than 35 years of work experiences. It should be noted that in 2020, we held the World Cotton Day in this province in a no-Tillage cotton farm, and we also recorded that event on the World Cotton Day website.
