    Tooska Agrtourism Farm

World Cotton Day will be celebrated on October 7, 2026, at Tooska Agritourism Farm in Golestan Province, Iran. The event will bring together cotton farmers, textile-sector professionals, agricultural experts, researchers, university professors, artists, journalists, policymakers, and members of the public with an interest in cotton and sustainable agriculture.

The programme will feature presentations and discussions exploring cotton’s importance to farmers, the textile sector, and rural communities, as well as the need to promote more sustainable and environmentally responsible production practices.

Among the featured speakers will be Dr. Mohammad Esmaeil Asadi, Senior Conservation Agriculture Research Scientist. His presentation will highlight the importance of soil conservation and soil health, along with cotton’s valuable role in crop rotation. He will also discuss cotton production within Conservation Agriculture systems based on minimum soil disturbance, permanent soil cover, and crop diversification.

Reflecting the 2026 World Cotton Day theme, “Cotton for Good,” the gathering will provide opportunities for farmers, researchers, policymakers, media representatives, and other stakeholders to exchange experiences and explore how cotton can support livelihoods while protecting natural resources for future generations.

The celebration will be documented through photography, video, social media content, and a post-event report. Below are some images from prior year World Cotton Day events at Tooska, and a short video ICAC Executive Director Eric Trachtenberg made for the event.
