For World Cotton Day 2026, Women in Cotton Europe & Middle East (WiC EUME), a regional chapter of WiC Global, an initiative of the International Cotton Association (ICA), asked its members one simple question:
Why is cotton good?
In a short video, 13 women from Egypt, Switzerland, France, Greece, Germany, Spain, Türkiye and the United Kingdom answer in their own words, from wherever they stand in the cotton value chain: the field, the gin, the research lab, the trading desk, the port and the newsroom. Each closes with a single word for cotton, from Community and Soil to Quality, Trust, Livelihoods and Stories.
Together, they show that cotton is good because of the people behind it, and that more and more of those people are women.
